With a growing interest in knowing more about where we live and our "roots", this website brings together everything about where you live for the first time.

And there is an astonishing amount of material about a huge number of places in the UK. There are almost 2,000 book titles about Norfolk alone.

The website was originally set up for books only by bookseller, Martin Blackwell and his son Stephen. At their bookshop in Gt. Yarmouth they found a terrific appetite for local interest books.

When they researched the market they found that there is no single source of books based on geography. It has been a mammoth, ongoing task to go through almost 1.8 million titles and identify those with a local association.

Building on the success and interest in “buy local” campaigns they decided to expand the site to other products in September 2009 and invited local artisans to join them.
